Chairs and tables for restaurants
A restaurant chair has a hard life: hundreds of guests a week, cleaning every night, staff moving it all day. Here is what to check before you buy, and the models that fit.

What to check before you buy
- Leave room for knees
- Between the seat and the underside of the table top, leave 25 to 30 cm. Measure the underside, not the top: a frame under the top takes space. Dimensions guide
- Count the seats before you order
- A full-service dining room needs about 1.0 to 1.3 m² per seat, fine dining about 1.7 to 1.9 m². That includes tables and walkways. Seating planner
- Match bar stools to the counter
- For a bar about 107 cm high, choose a seat of about 76 cm. For a counter about 91 cm high, about 58 to 61 cm.
- Think about the nightly clean
- If chairs come off the floor every night, stacking models are easier to clear and store. 29 of our restaurant and hotel models stack.
- Put your brand on the chair
- 15 of our models have an option to cut your logo or symbol into the back.
- Upholstered? Check the fire rules
- In the UK, restaurants are on the medium hazard level of BS 7176 for upholstered seating. Other countries have their own rules. Fire rules guide
